15 Years Together and Still Swingin’!

The Boulder Big Band is a 22 piece Jazz Orchestra that plays the great Swing Era music of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Billi Holiday, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Woody Herman, Buddy Rich, and other jazz royalty.

Nothing creates excitement like a real, live band, blowing live breath through live horns. This band is BIG: 6 saxes, 5 trombones, 5 trumpets, piano. bass, guitar, drums and vibes. Plus vocals! Just imagine, 21 instrumentalists and a singer, who play for the love of the music, with passion and energy. We make a big sound, indoors or out, with minimal amplification. We can range from soft, romantic ballads, building up to exciting Foxtrot and Jitterbug tempos that will have everyone dancing.

This music transcends generations, and swing dancing is experiencing a renaissance, particularly among twenty- and thirty-somethings.

We are delighted to accommodate all of your special requests, so long as we have enough notice to purchase the charts and rehearse the music.

And while the fee may seem like a lot, this isn’t just some kid with a couple turntables, and it’s not a super-expensive celebrity show band either. It  includes all of our transportation, travel and setup time, as well as our own PA system. We provide everything, even a wireless mic for announcements and toasts. We will actually SAVE you save hundreds of dollars worth of sound equipment rentals.
